About this piece
The Royal Mint marked the 2014 Lunar Year of the Horse by adding running horse privy marks to the edge of a limited run of its gold Britannia coins.
Philip Nathan’s standing Britannia, holding a trident and olive branch beside the Union shield, appears on the reverse; the obverse carries Ian Rank-Broadley’s crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and a face value of 100 pounds.
Since 2013 the Britannia has been struck in 999.9 fine gold. The coin contains one troy ounce of fine gold, and the edge privy sets it apart from standard bullion issues of the same year.
Viewing and collection are by appointment in Hong Kong. Spot-linked prices follow the market and are not fixed until an order is confirmed.
